Our client needed to increase their production capacity for truck connectors, as the process in the US only allowed them to manufacture one part per injection mold, limiting their delivery times. Furthermore, they only had the final part available, not design drawings. Their challenge was to develop a solution that would allow them to produce multiple parts in each injection mold to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.

MEKTRON PROPOSAL

At Mektron Mexico, we handled the entire development of an injection mold made of tempered aerospace-grade aluminum and 1018 steel, capable of producing 12 units per injection. We implemented an air extraction system using vibration and precision bolt alignment, along with self-adjusting mechanical presses to maintain stability. Without initial blueprints, our engineering team simulated, designed, and fine-tuned every detail of the mold to ensure it met the client's specific requirements. This mold is now essential for the production of high-strength connectors.
