Our client needed a robust solution for making precise cuts in thick steel plates, with considerable load capacity and the ability to easily handle large work batches. They required a CNC machine that guaranteed cutting accuracy and could adapt to different thicknesses and dimensions, while also being easy to use and maintain. This need arose from the growing demand for parts with very detailed specifications in their manufacturing process.

MEKTRON PROPOSAL
At Mektron Mexico, we designed and manufactured a CNC plasma cutting machine with a 4x8 foot work area and the capacity to handle steel plates up to 2.5 tons and up to 2 inches thick. We equipped the machine with Mitsubishi servomotors and THK linear guides, offering a precision of ±0.049” on each cut. We added an automatic torch positioning system (THC) and an intuitive CNC interface, simplifying operation and optimizing the cutting process. This solution also features a structure made of A36 and 1018 steel, ensuring robustness and durability.
