REAL CHALLENGE
CUSTOMER PROBLEM
Beam bending alarm. Drive shaft electrically locked by electric brake on three-phase gearmotors. Loss of home position.
SOLUTION
We inspected the power consumption of both gearmotors and identified a consumption twice that specified on the nameplate. We detected that the electric brake was not engaging and found a fault in the main frequency inverter.
We swapped the drive control stages and manually repositioned the shaft position using the incremental encoder mounted on the gearbox pinion.
