Our client, a Korean company, was facing a critical problem in the production of laminated panels for truck doors. The difficulty lay in aligning 4-meter-long panels during rolling, as they lacked a system to center the panel and hold it in place. This hampered accuracy and jeopardized production.
KEY ANSWER
MEKTRON PROPOSAL
At Mektron Mexico, we designed an alignment system that included a 1018 steel chassis, welded using MIG technology and assembled with M8 bolts. For the rollers, we used heat-treated 4140 steel, ensuring hardness and resistance to the sharp edges of the panels. These rollers were mounted with grade 8 threaded rods and bearings that allow for calibration at various depths, providing a precise adjustment that guarantees uniform alignment along the entire workpiece.
